Essential Oil of
Basil - Ocimum basilicum

Basil - Ocimum basilicum

Country of Origin - India, Asia, Commores
Processed - Steam distilled
Part used - Leaves and Flowers
Smell - light, sweet, spicy, with a balsamic undertone
Note - top note

PROPERTIES & USES: 

Therapeutic:  Antidepressant, antiseptic, antiviral,
carminative, diaphoretic, digestant, diuretic, emmengogue, 
expectorant, insecticide, stimulant, tonic. 

Medical:  Internal - Anxiety, asthma, bronchitis, coughs, 
colds, depression, dizziness, exhaustion (nervous), fatigue,
fluid retention, indigestion, insomnia, nausea.

External:  Abrasions, stress related allergies, alopecia, lack
of concentration and confidence, headaches, infections,
insect bites, sinus congestion and infection, sorrow. 

Industry & Household uses:  In salads, in perfumery, extensive
use in soaps and dental products.  The herb is used a lot in 
tomato and pasta dishes, fish and meat.

BLENDS with: Bergamot, Clary Sage, Geranium, Lime, Oakmoss,
Rosemary and Violet. 

CAUTIONS: Not to be used during pregnancy. Can cause nausea 
and vomiting.   If used in excess, may cause sensitivity to skin. 
*Any essential oils - ingested in large amounts can be fatal.*
*Keep out of reach of children.*

BLENDS TO TRY

FOR Your MASSAGE

This is an uplifting or refreshing massage blend
5 drops Spearmint
3 drops Basil
3 drops Lime
3 drops Rosemary
3 drops Eucalyptus
3 drops Bergamot
20 ml of carrier oil

Add essential oils to a 1 ounce amber bottle then add carrier oil
Mix well and use for massage. 

FOR your "SNORING" Companion!!

4 drops Bois de Rose
4 drops Geranium
3 drops Basil
3 drops Allspice
3 drops Anise
3 drops Lemongrass
in 20 ml of carrier oil
Massage into upper chest, back of neck, across shoulders
and mid back.
