CLOVE BUD - Eugenia caryophyllus

Country of Origin - Indonesia
Processed - Steam distilled
Part used - Flower buds 
Smell - Spicey, fruity
Grown - wild 

PROPERTIES & USES: 


Therapeutic:  antiseptic, aromatic, carminative, insecticide, irritant, stimulant, stomacic
Medical:  Internal - Asthma, colic, diarrhea, gout, indigestion, measles, intestinal parasites, tuberculosis, colds and flu 
External: Stale breath, aching joints, mosquitoes, scabies, ulcers, wounds.

Industry & Household uses:  used in curries and pickles, with apples (remember the apples the kids brought to school?),  flavoring in toothpaste, also in cigarettes

BLENDS with: bay, bergamot, black pepper, clary sage, lavender, vanilla and ylang ylang. .

CAUTIONS: Possible skin irritant, Do Not use on sensitive or damaged skin.  If causes a reaction you might want to try 1/2.
Do a skin test. In large doses may cause liver toxicity. 
*Any essential oils - ingested in large amounts can be fatal.*
*Keep out of reach of children.*

Carpet Freshner

30 drops Eucalyptus 
30 drops Cinnamon Leaf
30 drops Lemongrass
10 drops Clove Bud
1/2 cup bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) Blend all oils and soda in a wide mouth jar and close lid and let set for 24 hours. Sprinkle over carpet and let sit for 10-15 minutes then vaccuum.

Spray Air Freshener

Marjoram 25 drops
Sage 25 drops
Spearmint 25 drops
Clove 25 drops
Patchouli 20 drops
 4 ounces distilled water


Mix all oils and add to the distilled water - shake well and
use in sprayer. Shake well before using.
