Hearing Loss

Using essential oils for hearing loss can be rewarding or yet may not help at all.

Hearing loss can be from several causes and only a few may be helped with essential oils.

Common cause of hearing loss can be from chronic infections and inflammation. These are the most likely to be helped with use of essential oils. If due to nerve damage, Helichrysum has shown the most success rate. If due to deterioration or arthritis of the small bones in the ear - most likely there will be no improvement at all.

We found information that Helichrysum can help if the hearing loss is due to Infection and inflammation, and also in some cases of nerve damage. Results can be wonderful, with profound hearing returning, to much more subtle improvements with some hearing only restored after several months of use.

Also as with any medication or medical plan, there are no guarantee’s, but then again you are probably already aware of that.

If the hearing loss is due to arthritis or deterioration of the small bones in the ear, then do not expect much to happen. If due to nerve damage, it appears to be a greater success rate, at least with improvement in hearing that may be gained. Again, with an infection or inflammation, hearing restoration will depend on the length of time of the problem.

To start with you can try a 2-3% dilution of Helichrysum. To mix this - measure 1 teaspoon of a carrier oil (Olive oil or Sweet Almond oil would be suggested.) to this add 2 -3 drops of Helichrysum. Stir well. Then rub a small amount behind each ear and down near the jaw line. Do this at least once a day but no more than twice a day. In some cases once hearing is restored you can taper off to every other day and still maintain hearing levels.

Following are a couple other recipes you might want to try if the pure Helichrysum doesn’t work:

Cypress – 10 drops
Helichrysum – 10 drops
Sweet Marjoram – 10 drops
Roman Chamomile – 10 drops
Carrier oil – 1 ounce
Blend well, apply behind ear, etc once or twice a day.

Helichrysum – 10 drops
Rosemary – 3 drops
Sweet Marjoram – 15 drops
Carrier oil – 1 ounce

Blend well, apply behind ear, etc once or twice a day.
