Measurements
When using essential oils most recipes will be measured in drops or milliliters.
Remember a little essential oil can go a long way!
20 drops is consider to be the equivalent of 1 milliliter (mL)
5 mL is 1 teaspoon (tsp), 15 mL is 1 Tablespoon (TBS) which is also about 1/2 ounce.  2 Tablespoons are one ounce.
Most of the time you can use about 1 mL (or 20 drops) essential oil to 1 ounce (or 2 TBS or 30 mL) of a carrier or fixed oil.
When scenting personal care base products follow the suggested number of drops to add per ounce as this will differ depending on what you are scenting.
I hope I haven't confused any one but helped to make measuring a little easier.

<<<<<<<<<< BIRCH HILL HAPPENINGS NEWS>>>>>>>

Hello Everyone,
Summer is once again upon us.  We do hope you continue studying and learning about aromatherapy all year long.
Aromatherapy is used in every season and the increased uses are becoming more apparent to all.
The SCENTBALLS are BACK in STOCK!!!  We are sorry for the inconvenience of them being unavailable. We have stocked plenty and hope to keep the supply up. Scent balls are so easy to use and essential oils are quickly dispersed into the room. You'll want to have a few extras on hand for quick scenting or to take with as you travel.
We now have our new Bar soaps available and have had wonderful reports from our customers.  These are 'rough' cut bar soaps made with all natural ingredients and essential oils  (Lavender, Rose and Tea Tree) in the scented ones (The Sandalwood scented bar is scented with a fragrance and essential oil blend).
Also we have some personal area diffusers. These can be placed near your work area, in the kitchen or bathroom. or any room. You simply place a few drops of oil on the surfaces and let them slowly evaporate into the air and area. They come in two designs - One is a Floral shape and the other is a unique Desert Sandstone disc.

‘til next month,

Yours in Aromatherapy,
Alan and Penny
