<<<<<<<<<<HELPFUL INFO>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Scrapes, bruises and other
boo boos even those caused intentionally by surgery - how can you help
them to heal more quickly? Essential oils have great antiseptic,
and antibacterial action. Some oils are better than others. Lavender
is a very safe essential oil that can be used on almost every "boo boo".
Lavender can be applied "neatly" to many scrapes and bruises. Neatly means
you don't need to dilute it in a carrier oil or water. It can be applied
directly to the wound.
**Before using on any scar
or deep wound please consult your physician. Do not apply essential
oils to surgery sites that still have stitches or tape in place.**
What can you use on
scars to help the skin heal quickly?
Helichrysum is a great oil
for scar care. The following recipe will work with new scars and
old. Quicker results will be seen with new scars.
For new Scars -
Helichrysum (also known as
Everlasting or Immortelle) - 15 drops
Rose hip seed oil - 15 ml
Hazelnut oil - 15 ml
Apply this mixture to the
wounds two times a day for about 10 to 20 days.
For older Scars -
Helichrysum (also known as
Everlasting or Immortelle) - 15 drops
Sage oil - 15 drops
Rose hip seed oil - 15 ml
Hazelnut oil - 15 ml
For old unsightly scars you
will need to apply this mixture to the wounds two times a day for 3 to
6 months.

<<<<<<<<<< BIRCH HILL HAPPENINGS NEWS>>>>>>>
Hello
Everyone,
First we want to Thank everyone
for your patience these past few weeks. As many of you know Penny's
mother passed away a couple weeks ago. She is now at peace and resting
comfortably with her Lord.
Also, Penny
had surgery - a few days before her mother passed on and has been recuperating
at home. Alan has been doing all the business by himself (and has been
doing a great job at getting the orders shipped out on time) and taking
"Great" care of Penny too!
With all this
going on and Penny not being able to be at her computer for a couple weeks
the "Welcome" webpage and newsletter have been delayed this month.
We chose this
months oils to reflect those we have been using the past month. These
oils do help relieve and make one calm. As for the Helpful hints for scar
treatment - Penny will be using them once all of her stitches are out (hopefully
in a week). We'll let you know how they work first hand!
We do want to
let every one know about our latest addition to our product line. The
Aroma Shell. This easy to use electric diffuser is a small table
top unit that uses a heat source to diffuse oils. This is a much
more safer diffuser to use than an open flame - tea light type diffuser
(Tea light type diffusers can break easily and should never have water
or more oils added to while hot.)
Place several drops
of essential oil(s) in the stainless steel bowl and plug in. You can add
oils directly to the stainless steel bowl or add a little water then the
oils. You can add more oils as needed without cooling down the unit.
It will provide several hours of diffusion. To change oils all you
do is let the unit cool down and then easily wipe out the previous oils
with a tissue or cloth and add new oil(s). You can wash the stainless
steel cup with warm soapy water as needed. They come in two colors
- Sand and Cobalt Blue. These units we have priced to fit everyone's budget
and are very affordable at just $19.97.
‘til next month,
Yours
in Aromatherapy,
Alan
and Penny
