PHYSICAL AILMENTS
Heartburn
Heart
burn and/or indigestion is caused from spasms in the stomach or esophagus
that allows gas and acid from the stomach to move up towards your throat.
This painful burning sensation can be very uncomfortable. Hiatal hernias
can also contribute to this very painful malady.
There a several oils you can use to help reduce the acid in the stomach, relieve inflammation and help to prevent infection.
Oils can be added to an herbal tea and consumed at meals. Chamomile tea with ONE drop of Lemon, Fennel or Melissa (Lemon balm) can give relief.
Remember more is not better when it comes to essential oils. Of course we truly do not recommend ingestion of any essential oil neat (directly from the bottle). A drop added to tea or a glass of water is typically very safe.
BUT if you prefer to play it very safe, we suggest you just buy herbal teas. The essential oils are still in the teas and are very effective and safe when consumed in this manner.
EMOTIONAL CONCERNS
Anxiety
There are many causes of anxiety.
Fear of the unknown and apprehension can be causes: some that come to mind
include going back to school, or starting school, whether preschool or
all the way to college; moving; stressful events at home or work.
Health concerns can cause tension and disturbed sleep.
Occasionally anxiety can even bring on a Panic attack. Where you feel your chest tighten and heart beat quicken, and breathing can be affected. Panics like these are extreme .
Chronic anxiety though can weaken you immune system leaving you open for more and susceptible to diseases.
The best way to avoid anxiety is trying to change the things that give you stress. This is not always possible. So the next thing is trying to make things less stressful.
Using essential oils can help you prepare mentally for uncertainties by allowing you to relax and strengthen you emotional stamina. During times of stress, take time to relax and rest, to help calm your nerves.
Essential oils known to help reduce anxiety include benzoin, Bergamot, Cedarwood,Chamomile, Clary Sage, Coriander, Frankincense, Geranium, Jasmine, Juniper, Marjoram, Neroli, Orange, Patchouli, Rose, Rosewood, Vetiver and Ylang ylang .

HEALTH & BEAUTY
Dry Hair
The
hot summer sun, wind, coloring and especially bleaching, hair dryers and
blowers, curling or straightening irons can all cause damage and drying
to the structure of your hair.
There a few essential oils that will stimulate your bodies production of the natural oils from the sebaceous glands to help restore hair to its' natural oiled condition.
Using Geranium, Lavender, or Juniper will help to stimulate your sebaceous glands. So adding these to your shampoo (one or any combination) will help.
Other oils that can also help
include: Carrot
seed, Cedarwood,
Frankincense,
Myrrh,
Palmarosa,
Peppermint, Sandalwood,
Thyme,
and Vetiver.
Again, adding a drop or two to your shampoo or conditioner can help. Another method is to add a drop to your brush and brush through your hair.
AROUND THE HOUSE
AND GARDEN
Smelly Garbage Bins
After
removing the garbage from the bin. Rinse/wash with a solution of hot water
containing 2-3 drops of Eucalyptus
or Tea
Tree.
Both
of these oils not only deodorize but will suppress the growth of molds
and mildew. They also kill other germs too! Don't forget to
add 1 drop to the bin every now and again!
