Below are a few suggestions that have been shown to help in many of the cases involving Alzheimers and Dementia patients.    Those with restlessness (nervous legs) and insomnia have also been helped.

We recommend you get permission from family members before starting any Aromatherapy program.
Always begin slowly. A drop or two of Essential oil may be all that is needed on a daily basis.  Others will need more intense therapy, by diffusing for several minutes to hours of different essential oils.

We suggest you start with Lavender.  Often times a drop or two placed on a cotton ball and pinned to a collar a few times a day will bring results.  The Residents love their little "flower".

Other Essential Oils that have been very useful include Bergamot and Ylang ylang.
Again, Try one oil at a time. You may need to use a combination of 2 oils or may all 3.
If no results or subtle results are seen,  more intense application may be needed.

Diffusion into the room using a personal or room diffuser.   Several facilities use the Aroma Stream, especially for larger rooms.  Others find the Spa Scenter or Natura fan more to their liking. In any case these diffusers are safe to use in and around the residents and  facilities.

Again, if you need more assistance, suggestions or help with any health concern you feel may be helped with Aromatherapy, Please don't hesitate to E-Mail us. We want to help.
