using Essential oils for
CALMING and RELAXING
Calming Blends
Everyone likes to have some peace and quiet. When you can find a moment or two you want to
have that wonderful feeling of calmness and to be calmed from within.
When we think of essential oils that produce calming affects we think of Lavender, but there are many other oils
that will provide chemical changes and promoted calming feelings. Several essential oils can slow brain wave patterns
to produce sensations of relaxation. This mode of action is similar to sedative type drugs (only milder and with
out any of the bad side effects).
Roman Chamomile,
Clary Sage,
Helichrysum,
Lemon,
Mandarin,
Marjoram,
Neroli,
Ylang Ylang ,
Vetiver,
Rose,
Spikenard and
Frankincense.
Creating a blend using up to 5 of these oils will help you feel calm and peaceful. Several of these oils can help to
produce a spiritual calmness.
Vetiver,
Roman Chamomile,
Rose,
Spikenard and
Frankincense. Include these, especially if you wish to meditate.

FOOT BATH REJUVENATING Myrtle - 4 dropsSpearmint - 4 drops Grapefruit - 4 drops Cajuput - 3 drops 15 ml of a carrier oil Blend together and add 7-9 drops in foot bath, swirl water to disperse the oils, insert feet and relax for 15 minutes |
CALMING MASSAGE OIL Petitgrain - 6 dropsOrange - 5 drops Neroli - 4 drops Add to 15 ml carrier oil of your choice. Blend (shake well) massage into shoulders and back. |

Calming Massage oil This blend is especially good after a hard days work or work out at the gym.Birch - 3 drops Pine - 5 drops Eucalyptus - 5 drops Roman Chamomile - 3 drops Sunflower oils - 2 ounces Blend all together and shake well. Massage into stiff tired muscles and simple enjoy and relax. |
A Calming Diffuser Blend Lavender - 18 dropsRosewood- 15 drops Roman Chamomile - 12 drops Geranium - 12 drops Clary Sage - 10 drops Ylang Ylang - 10 drops Marjoram - 8 drops Blend into a small glass container and shake well. | Calming Perfume Roman Chamomile - 3 dropsYlang Ylang - 3 drops Jasmine - 1 drop Rose - 1 drops Jojoba - 4 ml Mix all together. Can be worn as a personal fragrance perfume or just enjoy - inhaling it from the bottle or omit the Jojoba and use this blend in a Personal inhaler type diffuser. FOR your Massage after a hectic and crazy day!6 drops Anise 15 drops Rose 5% in Jojoba 6 drops Nutmeg 60 ml of carrier oil Massage into upper chest, back of neck, across shoulders and mid back. This is one massage oil Al likes. Use it to relieve stress and for calming. |

FOR Your next RELAXING MASSAGE 4 drops Orange3 drops Anise 3 drops Cedarwood 3 drops Neroli 2 drops Chamomile in 15 ml of carrier oil for a relaxing massage |
RELAXING BATH In a warm bath put4 drops Chamomile and 2 Lavender. Do this before bed as this is a relaxing blend! |

A Great Relaxer and Soother 6 drops - Grapefruit6 drops - Bergamot 6 drops - Lime 4 drops - Ginger 2 drops - Sandalwood Blend all oils and use in diffuser or place 5-6 drops in your bath. |
CALMING SPRAY MIST 30 drops Marjoram30 drops Cajuput 30 drops Lavender 30 drops Petitgrain 30 drops Vetiver 4 ounces pure water Shake well and spray in the room This also works on overactive kids. A SLEEP MASSAGE OIL 4 drops - Pine4 drops - Marjoram 4 drops - Melissa 1 drops - Cinnamon in 15 ml of Carrier oil. Mix all ingredients and use to massage. Nighty Night :-) !! |

Sweet Dreams - a pillow spray 15 ml of distilled water2 drops of Lavender 1 drop Chamomile 1 drop Orange 1 drop Ylang ylang Shake well and spritz on pillow cases. Let dry. Great for your guests. |
Comforting Spray Lavender - 8 dropsVanilla - 3 drops (30 drops of Vanilla in Jojoba) Ylang Ylang - 3 drops Orange -10 drops Cedarwood - 8 drops Emulsifier - 1/2 teaspoon Distilled Water - 2 ounces Add oils to Emulsifier, shake well then add the distilled water. Shake well and spray in room. |

Sleepy Time Neroli - 4 dropsMandarin - 3 drops Oregano - 3 drops Lavender - 3 drops 1 tablespoon carrier oil of your choice Blend essential oils in carrier oil. Shake well and massage your legs, arms and back (if you can find someone to do this for you!) |
FOR Your BATH - In a warm bath put 4 drops Roman Chamomile and 2 LavenderDo this before bed as this is a relaxing blend! |

Calming Blend to use as a Perfume Jojoba - 4 mlRoman Chamomile - 3 drops Ylang Ylang - 3 drops Jasmine - 1 drop Rose - 1 drop Add essential oils to Jojoba . Can be worn as a fragrance or inhaled from the bottle or cotton ball. Store in a glass bottle. If worn as fragrance be sure to dab on pulse points, and behind the ears. |

EASY SLEEPING MIST SPRAY
Myrtle - 45 drops Eucalyptus - 30 drops Bay laurel - 30 drops Grapefruit - 20 drops Marjoram - 20 drops Emulsifier - 2 teaspoons 4 oz of distilled water Blend together the essential oils and the emulsifier then add the distilled water and shake well, spray in bedroom a few times before going to sleep. (Please note this blend may be cloudy. This is normal. ) |

SHOO the MONSTERS AWAY BEDTIME SPRAY Bedtime sprays for Children (and adults too) Often times children and adults have a difficult time drifting off to sleep or darkness can make the night a 'scary' place.Make a Bedtime Spray of a mix of the following essential oils in a 8 ounce bottle of distilled water. 12 drops Roman Chamomile 12 drops Lavender and 8 drops Orange 30 drops of Emulsifier Mix and spritz on the pillow and in the air in the room. This mixture is good where "monsters' hide too! :−) Mix the Essential oils with the emulsifier, blend well then add to the distilled water, shake well before spraying! |

MEDITATION Myrrh − 4 dropsSandalwood − 6 drops Frankincense − 10 drops Clove bud − 2 drops Cistus − 2 drops Clary Sage − 6 drops Rose Otto − 2 drops Blend oils in amber bottle, shake well. Add 2−6 drops to you diffuser for use while meditating. If you have a large room, you may need to use more oil in the diffuser. The oils in this blend are very soothing and relaxing. |
STRESS BUSTER Lavender − 6 dropsRoman Chamomile − 4 drops Ylang Ylang − 4 drops Blend these oils together in an amber bottle. You can easily double or triple this recipe. This blend is wonderful to use in any personal diffuser such as the Terra Cotta Disc that can be set next to your work are or in a Personal inhaler. Inhale as needed. This blend of oils is very calming and will help you relax and feel happy. |

SIMPLE SLEEP BLEND Lavender 1 dropBergamot − 1 drop Place these on a tissue and place between your pillow case and pillow. Nighty night! |
RELAXING MASSAGE OIL Marjoram - 6 dropsRoman Chamomile - 3 drops Lavender - 10 drops Sage - 3 drops 2 ounces Sweet almond Oil Blend all essential oils in a PET plastic bottle, then add the Sweet Sweet almond oil. Shake well. Use for massage on any day, but especially on days where you are more stressed. |

RELAX AND WIND DOWN SPRAY MIST Mandarin - 10 dropsLavender 5 drops Marjoram 3 drops Sandalwood 3 drops Emulsifier - 25 drops 4 ounces distilled water. Blend all essential oils together, then add the emulsifier. Blend this well. Add the essential oils and emulsifier to a 4 ounce PET plastic spray bottle, add 4 ounces of distilled water. Shake well before each use. This blend is great when your children need to wind down after an exciting day, such as a birthday party or when company comes to visit after dinner. |
A DE-STRESSING BATH Lavender - 3 dropsYlang Ylang - 3 drops Basil - 2 drops Geranium - 2 drops Grapefruit - 2 drops Fill Tub with warm water, add the essential oils. Close the bathroom door and enjoy and relax. Light a few candles, play your favorite relaxing music and unwind! |
