SHIPPING INFORMATION

ALL ORDERS are Shipped by the method YOU CHOOSE. UNLESS you qualify for Free Shipping - then we choose the method. The most common choices are either:

United States POST OFFICE - PRIORITY MAIL
You may also choose USPS 2 Day Express for additional fees.
Restrictions apply. USPS 2 Day Express is not always available.

UPS GROUND - the United Parcel Service.
You may also choose UPS Next day or 2nd Day Air for additional fees.

WHERE DO YOU SHIP TO?
We will ship orders to any place in the USA or Canada. APO & FPO orders are welcome.
We will ship to US Territories - by Priority Mail only.

We do not ship to any other countries. BUT if you live outside the USA and have friends or relatives that live here and are planning to visit them, you may want to have them order some 'goods' for you and have it sent to their location. (We have done this in the past for several folks.)

How much is my shipping cost? To help you find your shipping costs: Read this SECTION
For the least expensive method of shipping within the USA Make Sure you "SEE THE RATES" near the "Choose your Shipping Method" During Checkout.

After you "Check the Rates" - Click on "Continue Shopping" to be able to actually "Choose a Shipping Method".
If you click on "Checkout" you will end up with the Default shipping for that day.

Shipping rates can change daily as both Priority and UPS Ground determine the shipping fees and so you will need to check the rates - somedays it is better by Priority Mail, some days it is UPS Ground.
You have to CHECK THE RATES to get the best pricing on Shipping fees for your needs.

The Least expensive way to ship light weight packages is PRIORITY MAIL. It typically arrives within 1 to 3 days after shipping.

UPS GROUND is nearly as FAST and UPS Ground may be the "Best Price" for heavy items such as the unscented base products like shampoo, conditioner and carrier oils in the larger bottles or if you have ordered more than a dozen 10ml bottles of Essential oils.

CANADIAN ORDERS are now shipped via International Priority Mail
The shipping costs listed are ESTIMATES ONLY. As we will charge you for shipping at the appropriate rates.

PLEASE NOTE: Almost every package entering Canada is checked at CUSTOMS. Please be aware your package may take as long as 30 days or more to reach you. The United States Postal Service has no way of tracking or confirming your package in Canada. So please be patient. You are responsible for any Canadian taxes, tariffs or duties due - so please take this into consideration before ordering.

We do not ship into Canada by UPS as they have too many restrictions and exhorbant fees.

WHAT IS YOUR MINIMUM SHIPPING FEE?
Minimum shipping is currently $5.99.

Believe it or not many orders of One or Two LIGHT weight items fall into this shipping cost category.

In order for you to know what your Shipping Cost are:
You MUST "SET THE SHIPPING" information on the Shopping Cart to be able to see the Shipping costs.
(Instructions to 'set the Billing' are on the "View Shopping Cart" page. Click on that link and then on the top of the next page will be the Shipping Methods and a "SEE RATES" link.)

After you "Check the Rates" - Click on "Continue Shopping" to be able to actually "Choose a Shipping Method".
If you click on "Checkout" you will end up with the Default shipping for that day.

Each Day the Shipping rates will change - somedays it will be less expensive by Priority Mail some days it is UPS Ground.
You have to CHECK THE RATES to get the best pricing on Shipping fees for your needs. Once your order goes over $100.00 AND you have set the shipping information you will be able to see the shipping fees and a notice will appear that your shipping fees have been discounted.

If you have not "set the shipping or billing information" you will not be able to see any shipping, handling and insurance fees. You MUST Set the Shipping information to be able to see Shipping fees otherwise you won't know the shipping costs until you finalize your order.

After you "Check the Rates" - Click on "Continue Shopping" to be able to actually "Choose a Shipping Method".
If you click on "Checkout" you will end up with the Default shipping for that day.

Each Day the Default Shipping cost will change - somedays it is most cost effective by Priority Mail some days it is UPS Ground.
You have to CHECK THE RATES to get the best pricing on Shipping fees for your needs.

SPECIAL NOTE for our ALASKA, HAWAII, APO, FPO:
Please know that your Order will be shipped by PRIORITY MAIL ONLY!
It is cost prohibitive or NOT allowed to ship by UPS to your locations.

Shipping fees to Alaska and Hawaii may be slightly higher, but you already know that!

SPECIAL NOTE for our CANADIAN FRIENDS: Your Shipping fees at check out are only ESTIMATES. Your actual cost for processing and shipping are figured once we have it packaged and ready for shipping.

WHAT is a RUSH ORDER? **Please Note**:
A RUSH (and the RUSH FEE) on an order DOES NOT INCLUDE expedited shipping.
It only means your order will be processed AHEAD of other orders received since the last time we shipped. It will be shipped by the method you have choosen. AND this Fee will be added to your ORDER! IF you choose this option. If you check the RUSH ORDER Option - this fee will not be waived.

If you need Expedited shipping you need to choose Express (USPS), Next Day (UPS) or Second Day (UPS) Methods. Restrictions apply to all of those methods. Please see our Expedited shipping page. CLICK HERE.

All EXPRESS, NEXT DAY or SECOND DAY shipped orders already include the RUSH order fee and only if you choose one of those methods of shipping at the time of checkout will your order be expedited shipped.

HOW DO I QUALIFY for DISCOUNTED SHIPPING?

Once your PRODUCT total reaches $100.00 your shipping fee is discounted. Unfortunately you won't get to see the actual amount of the discount as our shopping cart won't show it, but the shipping fee will be discounted when you complete the check out process OR you set your billing information (see below for instructions on how to do that)! You will see a notice on the "View Cart" page. It will appear to let you know your shipping fees have been discounted.

Shipping rates are determined by the weight of your package and the distance it must travel from Minnesota.

Discounts on Shipping depend on the Amount of your order. The more you spend the larger the discount on shipping fees. It is possible your shipping my be free but depends on weight, distance and amount of the total order.

HOW DO I QUALIFY for FREE SHIPPING?
Almost all orders will Qualify for Free Shipping when the PRODUCT TOTAL is $350.00 (after any discounts have been deducted). (Except Cananda where due to the increase in shipping fees you will need to order $450.00 product total.)

Occasionally we do see orders that will qualify sooner (under $250.00) but the shipping cost depends on the weight and distance the package must travel.

Sorry, EXPEDITED SHIPPING METHODS Don't qualify for Free Shipping
(They do qualify for a varying amount of discounts though.)

ONCE your order qualifies for "Free Shipping". The shipping method is OUR Choice.
The reason is that often times qualifying orders are large and it is more cost effective for us to ship it via UPS. However, if it is a light weight package your order may be shipped by Priority as the more cost effective way. And since we are giving you free shipping we choose what method is best for your order.

Do I get Discounted shipping if I had placed an order that was under $100.00 and say 10 minutes later I remember I forgot some things so I placed another order. Both orders were under $100.00 but together they total over $100.00
You will most likely have a prorated (discounted) shipping fee on one of the orders. Technically these are 2 separate orders. We have to process them separately. What we will do is DISCOUNT the shipping fees on one of the orders especiallly if we can ship both orders in one box. If we cannot ship both orders in one box then we have to charge full shipping on both orders.

HOW SOON DO YOU PROCESS MY ORDER?
We process orders in the sequence they are received. The approximate time of shipping is determined by the day of the week and the volume of orders we have received when you placed your order.

The exception is those of you that have chosen to Expedite AND have contacted us previously. There is an additional fee for expediting orders. You can choose to pay for your order to be
"RUSHED". It will then be processed ahead of other orders. Rush orders do not include Expedited shipping. You will pay extra for Overnight or 2nd day shipping depending on the Method (UPS or USPS) you choose.

During most of the year we are processing orders and shipping them out within 1 business day. 
(Saturdays and Sundays are not business days).

Why do we hold orders sometimes for 24 hours before processing?
**Currently we are Shipping out all orders ASAP - PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL ADDRESSES ARE CORRECT!!
If an Order is returned to us because you gave us a wrong address -
we WILL CHARGE ADDITIONAL FEES to RESHIP .

It is not unusal for customers to add or change an order - we like to give everyone a chance to make changes   but we also try to ship out as soon as possible.
Occasionally we see descrepancy in addresses etc and need to contact the customer. This allows us time to make the necessary changes.

WHEN DO YOU SHIP?
We know you are all anxious to get your orders, we will try to ship out all orders
within 24-72 hours (business hours that is!)

We Ship Monday through Fridays.

Typical Shipping scenarios are as follows :
Orders Received on:
Mondays orders are usually shipped on Tuesdays or Wednesdays
Tuesdays orders are shipped on Wednesdays or Thursdays
Wednesdays orders are shipped on Wednesday or Thursdays
Thursdays & Fridays orders are shipped on Thursays & Fridays or Mondays
Saturdays & Sundays orders are shipped on Tuesdays.

Please know that this is just a rough idea when your order may be shipped. We always try to ship them out as quickly as we possibly can, and on slow days your order may be received by us, processed and shipped right away!!

The actual day we process and ship your order is dependent on the volume of orders we receive each day. Remember it's just Penny & Al that do the processing etc for your order.

You will know that your order has been shipped once you get an e-mail from us AND from either USPS or UPS with your delivery confirmation and tracking information.

WHEN SHOULD MY ORDER ARRIVE?

We will send you an e-mail once your order has been shipped.
(We don't ship on Saturdays or Sundays or Holidays as UPS and USPS are closed.)
Once we send you the e-mail notice, your package should arrive in about 3 - 7 days
depending on which shipping method you choose.
US Priority Mail usually arrives within 2-3 days. UPS Ground within 2-5 days depending on where you live from Minnesota.
(In Canada your order should arrive in 7-10 days, remember too that Customs may hold your order for up to 30 days, so don't get upset if it hasn't arrived within the 10 days. It should be there shortly.)

What address should I use?
In the United States


PLEASE provide the CORRECT Billing address for the Credit Card used. Which is the address we will use to send your order to if we use US Postal Service (Priority Mail ) to send your package to.

NOW if this is a Post Office Box that is fine for Priority shipped packages, BUT NOT if you want to ship your order by UPS. In that case we need your Street Address. Now we know that you may not have a Post Office Box, that you are like the majority of the folks and get your Postal Mail AND your deliveries by UPS at the same residence (or office). But UPS won't deliver to Post Office Boxes and in some areas of the USA the address you provide for shipping can only receive packages delivered by other carriers like UPS or Fed EX and not by the Post Office.

So, If you have a Post Office Box AND a STREET ADDRESS Enter both in the Shopping Cart (there is room as there are 2 lines for addresses!!)

NOW if YOU CHOOSE and are having it sent by US PRIORITY MAIL OR 2 Day Express - USE YOUR MAILING ADDRESS you use to receive your regular mail!  This is the address where the Mailman delivers your letters and other correspondence. We prefer to send to a POST OFFICE BOX if that is where you normally get your letters delivered.
If your mailman doesn't deliver your mail to your house then we want to send it to the P.O. Box too!

If you are having it shipped by UPS - the United Parcel Service - they need a STREET ADDRESS to deliver to you. If you only give us a POST OFFICE BOX we will ship by Unite States Post Office Priority mail NOT by UPS (United Parcel Service).

In Canada - same as above. Except we only ship by the Postal Service! (Watch our site as we may be offering UPS Standard into Canada soon)

WHAT IS MY BILLING ADDRESS?
This is the Address that your CREDIT CARD Statement or BANK Statements would be sent to. It is the address they have 'on file' where you receive your letters.

WHAT IS MY SHIPPING ADDRESS?
This usually is the same as your Billing Address. It is where you get packages delivered too.

BUT If you have a POST OFFICE BOX - realize we cannot ship your package to you by UPS (United Parcel Service) as they don't deliver to Post Office Boxes. They need a STREET or ROAD address.

Do I have to sign or be home for my order?
Your order may require a signature if it is over $150.00.
Someone at your residence may need to sign for it but usually signatures are only required for extremely large orders.
The only orders that ABSOLUTELY require Signatures are the Overnight and Express orders.

Remember - Al and Penny are the only employees!
That's right, it's only the two of us that run Birch Hill Happenings. 
We don't have any other workers in our shipping department - just Penny and Al.
Al assembles the orders, Penny double checks and packs them and does the final checks to make sure everything you ordered is in place.

We reserve the right to ship orders to Billing addresses only.

Can you Ship my order Overnight?
Please Plan ahead. We cannot guarantee Overnight shipping. We can try to ship it overnight if you place the order by NOON and Choose Expedited Shipping. Please see our EXPEDITED Shipping Services page

If an EXPRESS or Two Day Order is not received by NOON CENTRAL Time it will NOT ship out on the day it is placed, it will be shipped the next business day.

ORDERS TO CANADA Our shopping cart may not figure shipping costs to Canada correctly.
Your order may be sent with a Packing Slip inclosed and we will send you an invoice with the shipping and handling added on in the correct amount. Or we may send you an e-mail notice with the total.
Please remember you are responsible for any additional fees or taxes once it is in Canada!
