The Default method is STANDARD previously it was called Best-Way Rate and is for USA Customers only. If you are from outside the USA & the territories you need to Choose International Priority.
During the Check out process you can SEE the RATES on Shipping Costs.
You can See the Rates on the Billing and Shipping page (this page is the page where you will be entering your Billing and Shipping information - it is near the top of the page on the right hand side of where you See the Shipping Methods available.
United States POST OFFICE
This means your order may be shipped by either USPS First Class mail or by USPS Priority mail.
OR
UPS GROUND - the United Parcel Service. This is for USA Customers only.
You may also choose UPS Next day or 2nd Day Air for additional fees.
Restrictions apply. Next Day and 2nd Day air are not always available.

WHERE DO YOU SHIP TO?
We will ship orders to any place in the USA or Canada. APO & FPO orders are welcome.
We will ship to US Territories - by USPS First Class or Priority Mail.
We are now accepting Orders from the UNITED KINGDOM, AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND.
PLEASE CLICK HERE and read the details.
Other than those countries, we do not ship to any other countries.
BUT if you live outside the USA and have friends or relatives
that live here and are planning to visit them, you may want to have them order some 'goods' for you and have it
sent to their location. (We have done this in the past for several folks.)

How much is my shipping cost?
To help you find your shipping costs: Read this SECTION
For the least expensive method of shipping within the USA
Make Sure you "SEE THE RATES" near the "Choose your Shipping Method" During Checkout. The default method is NOW "STANDARD". We choose the method to ship to you and so we have discounted this method.
After you "Check the Rates" - Click on "Continue Shopping" .
If you click on "Checkout" you will end up with the Default shipping which will be the Standard rate.
Shipping rates can change daily as both USPS and UPS Ground determine
the shipping fees and so you will need to check the rates - somedays it is better by USPS Mail, some days it is UPS Ground. So it is easier for us to offer just a Standard rate and we choose the best way to ship your order.
You can CHECK THE RATES to see what shipping will cost.
CANADIAN and INTERNATIONAL ORDERS are shipped via International Priority Mail
The shipping costs listed are ESTIMATES ONLY. As we will charge you for shipping at the appropriate rates.
PLEASE NOTE: Almost every package entering Canada is checked at CUSTOMS. Please be aware your package may take as long as 30 days or more to reach you. The United States Postal Service has no way of tracking or confirming your package is in your Country. So please be patient. You are responsible for any taxes, tariffs or duties due - so please take this into consideration before ordering.
We do not ship Internationally by UPS as they have too many restrictions and exhorbant fees.

HOW TO GET FREE SHIPPING
Domestic Orders (USA)
IF your product order totals, after sales discounts are applied, is over $100.00 AND you choose STANDARD-USA as the method of shipping you will get FREE SHIPPING!
There is a Weight LIMIT of 4 lbs. So if your package weighs over 4 lbs you may pay a minimum/reduced fee to cover the additional weight.
Watch your e-mail notice to get the tracking information. UPS or USPS will send those to you.
Sorry, No free shipping on PHONE ORDERS.
Free shipping applies only to orders placed through our ON-LINE Shopping cart.
Sorry, No free shipping to International destinations.

Can I Add to my Order?
Recent changes in our Credit Card Merchant account won't allow us to add items to an order you have recently placed.
If you have forgotten an item or two, you will need to place another order.

WHAT IS YOUR MINIMUM SHIPPING FEE?
Minimum shipping is currently $4.99.
Shipping costs are determined by Weight and the Distance (Zone) from Minnesota your order has to travel.
Believe it or not many orders of One or Two LIGHT weight items fall into this minimum shipping cost category.
In order for you to know what your Shipping Cost are:
You MUST "SET THE SHIPPING" information on the Shopping Cart to be able to see the Shipping costs.
We are constantly updating and checking weights of products so we can provide you with the BEST shipping costs.
(Instructions to 'set the Billing' are on the "View Shopping Cart" page. Click on that link
and then on the top of the next page will be the Shipping Methods and a "SEE RATES" link.)
After you "Check the Rates" - Click on "Continue Shopping" to be able to actually "Choose a Shipping Method".
If you click on "Checkout" you will end up with the Default shipping for that day.
If you have not "set the shipping or billing information" you will not be able to see any shipping, handling and insurance fees.
You MUST Set the Shipping information to be able to see Shipping fees otherwise you won't know the shipping costs
until you finalize your order.
After you "Check the Rates" - Click on "Continue Shopping" to be able to actually "Choose a Shipping Method".
If you click on "Checkout" you will end up with the Default shipping for that day.
You have to CHECK THE RATES to get the best pricing on Shipping fees for your needs.
SPECIAL NOTE for our ALASKA, HAWAII, APO, FPO:
Please know that your Order will be shipped by USPS MAIL ONLY!
It is cost prohibitive or NOT allowed to ship by UPS to your locations.
Shipping fees to Alaska and Hawaii may be slightly higher, but you already know that!
SPECIAL NOTE for our CANADIAN & INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS:
Your Shipping fees at check out are only ESTIMATES. Your actual cost for processing and shipping are figured once
we have it packaged and ready for shipping.

Can I Delay the shipping of my order?
We will not hold or delay processing or shipping of your order as your Credit Card
or PayPal account has already been 'authorized' for the amount of your order. And we have to process and ship your
order promptly (typically within 3-4 business days).
We are obligated to speedy processing and shipment of your order according to the credit card
and banking rules we must follow.
(Exception is made to merchants if we are on vacation. As long as you
are informed, in advance, that the product/order won't be shipped until a specific date and time frame
upon our return.)
If you need it shipped later - place your order later.
Please don't ask for delayed processing or shipment.

HOW SOON DO YOU PROCESS MY ORDER?
We process orders in the sequence they are received. The approximate time of shipping is determined by the
day of the week and the volume of orders we have received when you placed your order.
Occasionally we will have the ability to allow you to opt to have your order "RUSHED".
This just means it will be processed on the next shipout day. It will be brought to the 'front of the line' so to speak.
**Please Note**:
A RUSH (and the RUSH FEE) on an order DOES NOT INCLUDE expedited shipping.
It only means your order will be processed AHEAD of other orders received since the last time we shipped.
It will be shipped by the method you have choosen. This option is not always available.
If you have chosen to Expedite an order
AND have contacted us previously: There is an additional fee for expediting orders.
You will pay extra for Overnight or 2nd day shipping depending on the Method (UPS or USPS) you choose.
During most of the year we are processing orders and shipping them out within 1-2 business days.
(Saturdays and Sundays are not business days).
Why do we hold orders sometimes for 24 hours before processing?
**Currently we are Shipping out all orders ASAP - PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL ADDRESSES ARE CORRECT!!
If an Order is returned to us because you gave us a wrong address -
we WILL CHARGE ADDITIONAL FEES to RESHIP .
It is not unusal for customers to add or change an order - we like
to give everyone a chance to make changes but we also try to ship out as soon as possible.
Occasionally we see descrepancy in addresses etc and need to contact the
customer. This allows us time to make the necessary changes.

WHEN DO YOU SHIP?
We know you are all anxious to get your orders, we will try to ship out all orders
within 24-72 hours (business hours that is!)
Depending on the size and volume of orders, on occasion we will even process and ship orders out
within Minutes of them arriving in our Order box.
So if you need to make changes to addresses etc, you need to
contact us IMMEDIATELY as you never know if the day you place your order we are just waiting to process and ship it out!
We Ship Monday through Fridays.
Typical Shipping scenarios are as follows - but as stated above if we are 'caught up' it may
be processed and shipped within minutes:
Orders Received on:
Mondays orders are usually shipped on Tuesdays or Wednesdays
Tuesdays orders are shipped on Wednesdays or Thursdays
Wednesdays orders are shipped on Wednesday or Thursdays
Thursdays & Fridays orders are shipped on Thursays & Fridays or Mondays
Saturdays & Sundays orders are shipped on Tuesdays.
Please know that this is just a rough idea when your order may be shipped. We always try to ship them out as
quickly as we possibly can, and on slow days your order may be received by us, processed and shipped right away!!
The actual day we process and ship your order is dependent on the volume of orders we receive each day.
Remember it's just Penny & Al that do the processing etc for your order.
You will know that your order has been shipped once you
get an e-mail from us AND from either USPS or UPS with your delivery confirmation and tracking information.

WHEN SHOULD MY ORDER ARRIVE?
We will send you an e-mail once your order has been shipped.
(We don't ship on Saturdays or Sundays or Holidays as UPS and USPS are closed.)
Once we send you the e-mail notice, your package should arrive in about 3 - 7 days
depending on which shipping method you choose.
USPS Mail usually arrives within 2-3 days but can take longer. UPS Ground within 2-5 days depending on where you live
from Minnesota.
(In Canada. United Kingdom, Australia, & New Zealand, your order should arrive in 7-10 days, remember too that Customs may hold your order for up to 30
days, so don't get upset if it hasn't arrived within the 10 days. It should be there shortly.)

What address should I use?
In the United States
If you are having your order shipped by USPS Mail you can use either a Post Office Box or your Street
address (provided your street address is a deliverable address).
A Post Office Box that is fine for USPS shipped packages, BUT NOT if you want to
ship your order by UPS. In that case, we need your Street Address. Now we know that you may not have a Post Office Box,
that you are like the majority of the folks and get your Postal Mail AND your deliveries by UPS at the same residence
(or office). But UPS won't deliver to Post Office Boxes and in some areas of the USA the address you provide for
shipping can only receive packages delivered by other carriers like UPS or Fed EX and not by the Post Office.
So, If you have a Post Office Box AND a STREET ADDRESS Enter both in the Shopping Cart (there is room as there are
2 lines for addresses!!)
NOW if YOU CHOOSE and are having it sent by USPS MAIL OR 2 Day Express -
USE YOUR MAILING ADDRESS you use to receive your regular mail!
This is the address where the Mailman delivers your letters and other correspondence.
We prefer to send to a POST OFFICE BOX if that is where you normally get
your letters delivered.
If your mailman doesn't deliver your mail to your house then we want to send it to the P.O. Box too!
If you are having it shipped by UPS - the United Parcel Service - they need a STREET ADDRESS to deliver to you.
If you only give us a POST OFFICE BOX we will ship by Unite States Post Office mail NOT by UPS
(United Parcel Service).
In Canada - same as above. Except we only ship by the Postal Service!

Do I have to sign or be home for my order?
Your order may require a signature if it is over $100.00.
Someone at your residence may need to sign for it but usually signatures are only required for orders over $250.00 .
Orders that ABSOLUTELY require Signatures are the Overnight and Express orders shipping by UPS.
**If your order is over $100.00 it MAY require a signature at time of delivery by your Post office or UPS.
**If your order is over $250.00 it WILL require a signature at time of delivery by your Post office or UPS.

WHAT IS MY BILLING ADDRESS?
This is the Address that your CREDIT CARD Statement or BANK Statements would be sent to. It is the address
they have 'on file' where you receive your letters.
WHAT IS MY SHIPPING ADDRESS?
This usually is the same as your Billing Address. It is where you get packages delivered too.
BUT If you have a POST OFFICE BOX - realize we cannot ship your package to you by UPS (United Parcel Service) as
they don't deliver to Post Office Boxes. They need a STREET or ROAD address.
If your Billing and Shipping addresses are different - Please, simply make a note in the
comment space why they are different. Did you move recently and you haven't changed
your banking information? Do you use a PO Box for most of your mail but
want this order sent to your Residence or Place of work? Or is it a gift?
Answering these questions makes it easier for us to process your order more quickly.
Other wise for your Credit Card Safety, we reserve the right to ship Orders to correct Billing Addresses.
(Part of the security involves addresses matching your information on file with your Credit Card company!)
Please Review your order and be sure ALL Addresses are correct and up to date.
You are ultimately responsible for reviewing your order. Before submitting your order,
Review the items in your cart to assure yourself that you are ordering the correct items and quantities.

That's right, it's only the two of us that run Birch Hill Happenings.
We don't have any other workers in our shipping department - just Penny and Al.
Al assembles the orders, Penny double checks and packs them and does the final checks to make sure everything you
ordered is in place.

Can you Ship my order Overnight?
Please Plan ahead. We cannot guarantee Overnight shipping. We can try to ship it overnight if you place the
order by 10 AM and Choose Expedited Shipping. Please see our EXPEDITED Shipping Services page

If an EXPRESS or Two Day Order is not received by 10:00 AM CENTRAL Time
it will NOT ship out on the day it is placed, it will be shipped the next business day.
ORDERS TO CANADA, UNITED KINGDOM< AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND Our shopping cart may not figure shipping costs to International destinations correctly. It is only an estimate - and is
usually on the 'High' end.
Your order may be sent with a Packing Slip inclosed and we will send you an invoice with
the shipping and handling added on in the correct amount. Or we may send you an e-mail notice with the total.
Please remember you are responsible for any additional fees or taxes once it is in your country!
