your knowledge and use of essential oils.
Physical Ailments
Impotence
We know you have seen all the "drugs" advertised on the television to help men with this
problem but did you know that there are other ways to help the love of your life with this problem?
Aromatherapy, by itself, can not cure impotence and the information contained in this article may not even help if the
cause of impotence is due to a medical condition such as diabetes, high blood pressure, prostate problems, and
the list can go on. Also if taking certain types of prescription medications, it may not help if impotence
happens to be one of the side effects of that particular drug.
What we are going to talk about is the intimate relationship with your man. Impotence often times is a mind
game for some men. Physical and emotional exhaustion, nervous tension, lack of confidence or even
something as simple as an underlying infection can cause any man to experience temporary impotence.
As men mature they have a lot more stress in their lives. In order for them to
function sexually, you have to clear their mind of all their troubles, pressures and other stress.
Worse yet is their anxiety of not being able to 'perform'.
It is also known as men get older they need not only visual stimulation but emotional and physical stimulation.
To start with, there are several essential oils that are known to be more appealing to men. These by themselves
have been known to spark sexual feelings. This is what we call the aphrodisiac effect.
Then there are those that help to relieve stress, anxiety and all the other emotions that could trigger sexual dysfunctions.
Some men will easily respond to certain smells. The Aphrodisiac effect may be all they need.
Others will respond better to the physical stimulation and pleasure of touch. If this is the case you will want
to set plenty of time aside, send the kids away for the night and plan an evening together. Do not
concentrate on the culmination of orgasm, instead, feel and touch to help him feel comfort, safety and
enjoyment of the sensations of touching.
The top essential oils to help with impotence include
Jasmine, Sandalwood and
Clary Sage.
Some essential oils that may help with impotence include:
Jasmine (make you feel warm and peaceful inside,
Rose
(can help you feel stimulated, also to sooth other emotions that may impede impotency),
Clary Sage (a scent similar to that of body pheromones
excreted during sexual encounters)
Rosemary (helps
you feel more alert and stimulated mentally),
Sandalwood (definitely known for its Aphrodesia properties),
Vanilla
(very warm, exciting and inviting when it comes to Aphrodesia and sexual stimulation), Ylang Ylang (again
has many aphrodisiac properties, will make you feel happy to almost giddy).
Dr Valnet's book "The Practice of Aromatherapy" lists the following essential oils that may be useful for impotence:
Anise , Cinnamon,
Ginger,
Juniper,
Peppermint,
Pine needle,
Rosemary,
Sandalwood,
Thyme and
Ylang Ylang. Although
he does not give specific ways in which they may help. Since several of these have aphrodisiac properties
I would imagine these scents are quite stimulating and erotic for some men, stimulating their sexual responses.
Other essential oils include: Clary Sage,
Cypress,
Neroli ,
Cedarwood,
Roman Chamomile,
Frankincense,
Nutmeg,
Patchouli,
Vetiver,
Angelica,
Basil,
Black Pepper,
Cardamom,
Coriander,
Fennel,
Ginger,
Juniper (several of these last 8 oils appear to
be more stimulating for some as they are warming type essential oils).
Yet some other oils that can be very uplifting and refreshing, helping men to address their attention to the
situation at hand and to forget their troubles include:
Bergamot,
Geranium ,
Grapefruit,
Lavender,
Lemon,
Lime,
Mandarin,
Orange,
Peppermint,
Petitgrain and
Pine needle .
Essential oils diffused will set the ambience. Don't go overboard, just a few drops in any diffuser. Subtle scents
are often more exciting. Find out what kind of scents the man in you life might enjoy. Remember you are doing
this for him, so be sure to choose scents HE likes or enjoys!
What scents do men like? In studies done by Dr. Alan Kirsch of Chicago,IL, it was found that men like the following
scents: Anise,
Cinnamon,
Clove bud and
Ginger,
Lavender and
Vanilla.
You may want to blend a special massage blend including some of the oils your man may like.
Try this massage blend to give a very sensual massage. Start slow, and keep him warm and comfortable as you massage,
his arms, hands, chest, legs, feet, back and more.
Jasmine - 5 drops
Frankincense - 5 drops
Sandalwood - 5 drops
2 ounces of Apricot oil
Blend well and warm a small amount gently in your hand before applying to the skin.

Emotional Concerns
Aggression
You have been irritated by things all day. You are getting to the breaking point. You are
being to feel as though you have no choice but to 'hold your ground'. You are not sure if your feelings could
escalate in to a true aggressive encounter or not. You need to get control. You remember you can use
essential oils to begin to quell those feelings before you proceed into doing something you will regret later.
Using essential oils to overcome any undesirable emotional concern is welcome by all.
Essential oils used for aggression can be very helpful, but you must remember to use them.
Great essential oils to use for aggression include:
Roman Chamomile,
Lavender,
Bergamot and
Marjoram. Others include:
Juniper,
Rosemary and
Ylang Ylang .
We suggest you start with one or two of the above oils. Simply place in an inhaler and take several deep inhalations
as needed. If you feel you need more see our recipe section below for more recipes just for aggression.
If you are just irritated or irritable - try this blend. Although it does not contain any of the above mentioned oils,
it may take the edge off before your emotions are triggered into the undesired aggression mood.
For irritability
Nutmeg - 10 drops
Sandalwood - 8 drops
Petitgrain - 12 drops
Blend all in an amber bottle. Diffuse in any diffuser or use in a Personal inhaler.
Beauty and Skin Care
Swimmer's Ear aka Otitis externa
Fun in the sun and splashing in the water. This is part of the summer ritual for just about
all kids! But what can happen with all that water - especially if it gets in the ears and never really
gets a chance to dry out?
Bacteria and fungus love moist, warm conditions and if the ears don't really get a chance to dry out your child
may develop Otitis externa - inflammation of the outer portion of the ear and canal. This problem can
be mild to extremely painful.
With small or any children that complain of ear pain, please seek medical attention before using any aromatherapy
or essential oil treatments. If the child has a perforated eardrum or an Otitis media (middle ear infection) you will
not want to use any essential oils without consulting with your medical practitioner.
If indeed the child has swimmer's ear you will need to keep them out of the water for a few days to give the inflammation
or mild infection a chance to heal.
Blend together 3 drops of Roman Chamomile,
1 drop of Lavender and
1 drop of Tea Tree
in 1 tablespoon Sweet almond oil.
Then put several drops of this on a cotton ball and wipe the outer portion of the ear and you can also wipe into the
ear canal. Do not poke cotton swabs (Q-tips) into the ear canal.
You can do this a couple times a day. Some children will tolerate a small piece of cotton held in place in the ear.
If so, you can try this at bedtime with a small amount of the above blend on the cotton ball.
