To the Top of the PageThis time of year, especially, we have the desire for Peace on Earth. Personally, I think about it year round. It is something I wish for everyone in the world.
Of course this kind of Peace (no wars, no fighting of any kind) is not the inner peace that is the topic for this article although the two can be related.
Peace and Inner Peace unfortunately is a sense or emotion that can be so elusive for most.
Having a feeling of peace or peacefulness inside can be easy to achieve for some, yet others will struggle all their life.
In aromatherapy, finding a scent you love to smell is the starting point.
Often we will tell folks that as you smell different essential oils, and especially when you find a particular essential oil or two that you just can’t seem to get enough of (smelling that is), your body may be subtly sending you a message that you can use some of the minute chemical constituents in those oils to help restore balance to your very own chemical makeup. This chemical imbalance can play a major role in your emotional states.
Feeling peaceful and at peace is not the same as being calm and relaxed. Although some folks may feel more relaxed and calm when they are at peace. Several essential oils can be used to help ‘settle’ you down inside and help you feel more at ease.
Roman Chamomile, Neroli, Frankincense, Rose Otto, Melissa, Angelica seed, Spikenard, Yarrow, Jasmine, Juniper berry, German Chamomile, Sandalwood and Mandarin
Of course, if you have your favorite essential oils or blends by all means you should diffuse those. Wearing a few drops on a Terra Cotta Pendants or one of our Gemstone bracelets where your body heat can slowly diffuse the essential oils all day.
Something as simple as having your favorite smell around all the time may be just what you need to help you feel more at ease and give you that inner peace you so desire.
We have several premixed synergy blends that may be useful to help you feel more at peace. There are several blends you may want to try and they have one or more of the above essential oils in the blend.
Peaceful Blend , Calming blend, Beautiful Blend, For Women's Blend (isn’t just for women – men like this smell too), Meditation blend or My Angels blend.
Have fun and enjoy several essential oils, create your very own favorites too. Remember to write down your recipes so you can duplicate them again and again.
We do hope you will find just the right essential oils to give you and your family the inner peace we all look for each day.
Then - Simply, sit back enjoy - LIFE! (And we will continue to wish for Peace on Earth too!)
To the Top of the PageThis time of year I like to make suggestions of easy and simple gifts you can make to give for that Personal Touch.
Although I’m not as crafty as many of you are, you can still make a simple Bath Salt blend or Brown Sugar scrub to give to those that will appreciate your efforts.
Simple start with our Basic Salt Blend and add your favorite essential oils. You can mix the essential oils into the salt or just include a bottle of essential oils or blend for the Recipient to add to their own bath water. Package in a pretty jar, add a label, a ribbon and you are done!
- You can make a Brown Sugar Scrub easily too. These are a very popular scrub and softer and gentler on you face. This makes a very nice personalized gift. Use 2 cups brown sugar, add 1 cup of carrier oil - a nice blend such as coconut and almond is very nice. But you can use any combination of 2 or three carrier oils. Some are better for different skin types.
Then add 40-50 drops of Lavender or other essential oil. We have several essential oil blends that are wonderful for a brown sugar scrub – Fresh Face and Smooth and Soft are two of the most popular blends used for skin care. Stir well and let blend for a few days before packaging. Once you have it mixed you can put in a PET Jar with a label.
Our most popular blend ‘Calming’ makes a wonderful blend to add to lotion, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Simply follow the instructions for proper scenting found on each of our bottles of base products. You can buy in larger quantities, and purchase a few ‘smaller’ bottles (they come in clear, blue and green) and make up a “Bath Basket” for several folks on your list!
This is something very simple to do. Place your card, cards or stationary in a zip lock baggie.
Add a drop or two of your favorite essential oil to a cotton ball and place in the zip lock bag too.
Keep in this baggie for a minimum of 24 hours, longer if possible. This gives the essential oils time to penetrate the paper fibers.
- using our unscented Aroma Beads allow 3-5 mL of essential oils to soak into 1-2 ounces of the beads overnight. Then place 1-2 tablespoons in an organza bag, tie shut, place in a zip lock bag. Don’t forget to label them on how and where then can be used!
Have fun being creative! Your gifts will be greatly appreciated!!
